It seems like nVIDIA really did invent the lid, or the lock-tite for it anyway, after their extremely well kept secret regarding their most anticipated video card in the current line up, the 9800GTX. And yes, it seems that it could be as early as next week that the NDAs will lift and the physical retail cards will start to roll out of the Big Green's labs and into our humble PCs. Keep readingnVIDIA's 9-series Readying UpThe guys in green are at it again, according to rumourmill Fudzilla, who recently stated that nVIDIA will be releasing their highly anticipated flagship behemoth, the 9800GTX. Codenamed G100, the specs point to a card that will most likely trounce any form of competition. Here's the rumoured specs of the card: Sennheiser PC 350
We managed to get our hands on a set early, read on for a review of Sennheiser's upcoming product. Noctua Cooling Products Review
8800 GTS killer? HD 2900XT reviewed and releasedOh man, this must have been the Warcraft 3, PS3 or Duke Nukem forever of the graphics card world. Without further ado, the HD 2xxxseries of AMD/ATi VGAs is here, most notably the HD 2900XT. It will be hard released in Australia on Wednesday, so keep a look out. Keep readingIntel Penryn is upon us!Intel have already pulled out a trump card for AMD, before barcelona has even seen pre-production, in the for of it's highly anticipated sequel to the Core 2 Duo: The Penryn. Featuring a shrink in die size, the chip is set to blow even the current C2D's out of the water. Keep readingAMD/ATI's HD 2900XT Coming Soon!Well, after keeping the fans in suspension for the last 5 months, AMD/ATi (DAAMiT) are finally set to release their ground breaking new architecture on May 14 (probably May 16 over here) through the release of their HD 2900XT, and a few of its other smaller siblings to join it, notably the HD 1600XT and the HD 2400 line up. The HD 2900XTX is rumoured to be some time away, however this is still largely unkown at the moment. More details to come Right now, the HD 2900XT is supposedly comparable to nVIDIA's 8800GTS, and will be released with a price to suit, so expect good things in the price department regarding these 2 cards. Some of the specs are as following:
nVidia Geforce 8 Series Budget Cards ComingThe nVidia GeForce x8500 GT, GeForce 8600 GT and GeForce 8600 GTS retail 17 April. The GeForce 8300 GS and GeForce 8400 GS are expected shortly after the release of the mid-range cards. Specifications in full article. Keep reading8800GTX & GTS Released!Well it's that time of the year again where Moore's law decides to play a little catch up with the release of a completely new architecture. This time it is nVIDIA calling the trumps with the release of their highly anticipated 8800GTX and the 8800GTS.
Both G80 cores are fabricated from an 80nm process, making the footprint of the GPU bigger than that of King Kong, but this may change in the future as nVIDIA implement a newer 65nm process, cutting down size and ultimately cost, and maybe increasing clock speed as a result. So start saving those pennies, because the street price for the cards seems to be around $800 AU for the GTX and $700 AU for the GTS. After looking at some benchmarks it looks like a wise choice to go the extra mile and pay for the big brother. For full reviews of the cards, here are a few good sites: G80 Specs ConfirmedToday nVidia released it's specifications for the coming G80 chipset cards, the Geforce 8800GTX and the Geforce 8800GTS. Both of these cards are expected to be released on November 8, although this is yet to be confirmed. The Geforce 8 series cards will be DirectX 10 compatible, as expected. Geforce 8800GTX Specifications
Geforce 8800GTS Specifications
It would seem that ATI are behind the ball again as their DirectX 10 cards arn't due until next year, however it won't be possible for any DirectX 10 games to surface until Vista is released around the same time next year. G80 Specs LeakedSome specs for the coming nVidia flagship G80 cards were released on VR-Zone and quickly removed. Details of what were released are:
"TCP" may stand for "Thread Control Processor". The G80 is expected to become available in November and will be available in the GeForce 8800 GTX and the GeForce 8800 GT. According to the same leaked information these cards will cost approximately USD 649 and USD 449-499 respectively. The GTX will feature a 384-bit memory interface, a hybrid water and air cooler and 7 TCPs while the GT will have a 320-bit memory interface, a standard air cooler, and 6 TCPs. The G80 cards should be the first line of nVidia's DX10 video cards. ATI's X1950XT lands 23/8
Tomorrow (23/8) we should see the on-time release of ATI's latest and greatest final DX9 GPU to the public, the X1950XT.
Featuring the same 650MHz, 48 pixel shaders as the previous X1900XTX, the X1950XT differs with the use of GDDR4 RAM, clocked to a cool 2GHz. ATI have released a new set of benchmarks for both single card and Crossfire varieties, although the validity of these are highly doubtful given the level of 'cheating' in the past.
Accompanying ATI's new champion is the X1900XT 256MB. This card should cover the gap in price/performance between the X1900XT 512MB and the X1900GT. From what i can gather, this should be the final implementation of the DX9 Radeon's, with both nVIDIA and ATI steaming ahead on the road to DirectX 10 supremacy. It should be an interesting battle... ABIT's Back! It's been awhile since we've witnessed the last iteration of ABIT's MAX series boards, with the last entry being the IC7-MAX3 based on Intel' i875P chipset. Since then, the overpriced and under-performing 'fatal1ty' boards have seen the company's enthusiast market suffer in the face of much tougher competition such as DFI and ASUS, leaving ABIT fans in the dark.
Well, wait no longer. Enter AW9D-MAX. The long-awaited arrival is tipped to propel ABIT's line of overclocking boards toward the enthusiast market. Based on the 975X chipset, these babies will support Intel's Core 2 Duo, and possibly even quad-core for the future. The MAX features all solid-state capacitors (!), 2 PCI-E x16 slots (supporting both SLI and Crossfire), 7.1ch dolby audio, dual gigabit and a dual heatpipe cooling solution.
It's little brother, the AW9D, has mostly solid-state capacitors, same audio and PCI-E features, with a single gigabit network and single heatpipe cooling solution. Sennheiser Communication latest gaming headset, the PC 350, is soon to be released in Australia. As is the tradition of Sennheiser gaming products; reliability, comfort and quality are paramount. After the success of the PCX 350 in the area of portable audio, Sennheiser have taken the same headset and added a high quality mic to create the PC 350.
The Direct X 10 card will follow the same specs as released by nVIDIA (see below), with the 128 (GTX) and 96 (GTS) 'pixel pipelines' actually termed 'stream processors', which can be used for vertex, geometry or pixel shading operations. This is what is meant by the term 'unified shader architecture'. It obviously works, As the card is neck and neck with TWO X1950XTX's in Crossfire in almost all gaming benchmarks.
