G80 Specs Confirmed

Today nVidia released it's specifications for the coming G80 chipset cards, the Geforce 8800GTX and the Geforce 8800GTS. Both of these cards are expected to be released on November 8, although this is yet to be confirmed. The Geforce 8 series cards will be DirectX 10 compatible, as expected.

Geforce 8800GTX Specifications

• Core clock: 575MHz
• Pixel pipelines: 128 @ 1350 MHz
• Memory: 768MB DDR3 @ 900 MHz
• Memory interface: 384-bit
• Memory bandwidth: 86GB/s
• PSU Required: 450W

Geforce 8800GTS Specifications

• Core clock: 500MHz
• Pixel pipelines: 96 @ 1200 MHz
• Memory: 640MB DDR3 @ 900 MHz
• Memory interface: 320-bit
• Memory bandwidth: 64GB/s
• PSU Required: 400W

It would seem that ATI are behind the ball again as their DirectX 10 cards arn't due until next year, however it won't be possible for any DirectX 10 games to surface until Vista is released around the same time next year.
