Do you want to restart your computer now?

Damn, no! I'm sure I'm not the only person frequently bothered by pop-ups every 15 minutes after I've updated Windows while working. I have 50 applications open all deeply involved in something I'm working on and Windows insists I must restart.

Today was the last straw so I went hunting for a way to stop it and this is what I found. Windows runs a service that controls the updates and the very annoying pop-ups that go with it. To stop them, simply run this command:

net stop wuauserv

If you're unsure how, press 'Start' -> 'Run' and type in that command and press OK. No more annoying pop-ups, you can rest easy now.
