Microsoft Announces DX11

Seattle, Washington at the highly ambiuguously named 'gamefest 2008' - certainly a conference about animal welfare - and Microsoft have announced its new gaming API - Direct X 11.  Chris Satchell, MS CTO explained that the company wanted “to break away from purely having a paradigm of pixels, vertices and shaders", so maybe your next version of Crysis will be completely ray-traced.  But hey, it can't run too much worse, right?

While we are not sure what happened to Direct X 10.1, left out begging on nVIDIA's doorstep, only to be kicked in the pants and have room made for the shiny new DX11, we do know that DX11 will be completely compatible with DX10, which means no more freaking dual boot games.  Think of it as a 'starting over'.  So, where is the famous Novatek 'DX11 Games List'?
